Hyderabad High Court impleads Urdu Officers in selection row

While adjourning the case for two weeks, the judge directed the official and respondents to file their counter-affidavits.

Hyderabad: The Hyderabad High Court on Monday granted two weeks’ time to the selected candidates for the posts of Urdu Officers Grade-II in the minority welfare department to file their counter-affidavit on the petition challenging the action of the government in making the appointments without following the roster system. Justice P. Naveen Rao was dealing with two petitions by Mohd Muttabi Ali Khan and another who moved the court seeking to declare the action of the secretary in the department in not conducting the recruitment of Urdu Officers Grade I and Grade II posts in a fair and transparent manner as illegal.

Earlier, the judge felt that there was a prima facie in the case and issued orders impleading the selected candidates as parties to the petition and issued notices to the selected candidates. When the case came up for hearing on Monday, counsel appearing for one of the selected candidates requested the court to grant time to file their counter in the case. While adjourning the case for two weeks, the judge directed the official and respondents to file their counter-affidavits.
