VS Achuthanandan writes to Pinarayi Vijayan, seeks probe against leaders
Thiruvananthapuram: Close on the heels of Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan and CPM state secretary Kodiyeri Balakrishnan coming forward supporting transport minister Thomas Chandy and P.V. Anvar, MLA, veteran CPM leader and Administrative Reforms Commission chairman V.S. Achuthanandan has written a letter to Chief Minister seeking a probe on the allegations against the two LDF leaders.
An investigation in to the allegations was necessary to convince the people about the truth of the matter, he said in the letter, adding that steps should be taken to ensure that the issue does not affect the image of the government.
Though the government has already issued an explanation on the allegations against the two leaders, the media and the UDF are discussing this issue, he pointed out. “The UDF should not be allowed to take political advantage of the issue. I hope the allegations will be investigated in detail,” Mr Achuthanandan said.
Though Mr Achuthanandan had earlier come out against the duo, it was for the first time he has written a letter seeking action.
