Residents raise concern over Golconda road

The residents have requested the traffic police to ensure a smooth flow of traffic during the peak hours.

Hyderabad: Residents of the Golconda Fort area have requested the police to take steps to streamline the traffic at Banjara Darwaza and Fateh Darwaza. These doors serve as entry and exit point for residents of several colonies, located near the Golconda Fort.

Mr Mohammed Yousuf, a resident of Golconda Bada Bazaar, said that there is traffic jam at Fateh Darwaza and Banjara Darwaza daily. “These are the two main gates which connect the localities near the fort with the city. Since the passage is narrow, traffic blocks are the order of the day,” he complained.

The residents have requested the traffic police to ensure a smooth flow of traffic during the peak hours.

When contacted, Mr Syed Fayaz, inspector Golconda police station, said that the police clear the blocks whenever they come across. “I have alerted the traffic police and they are in the process of installing a traffic signal. Once this is done, it will minimise the inconveniences,” the inspector said.
