WARANGAL: Since the past five months the best practices and advanced technologies various cities in the country are implementing are being studied and efforts are on to bring them to Warangal in our attempt to build a world class city, said mayor Nannapuneni Narender. Mr Narender said GWMC has been contemplating to join hands with various companies to implement the best methods to manage Smart City master plan, sanitation, solid waste management, solar city, water supply, underground drainage, taxes and records computerisation, employee tracking and lake projects among others.
“The state government is extending complete support to the GWMC to build Warangal into a Smart City. We have been working on the DPR for practical execution of the Smart City Mission in Warangal,” he said. GWMC commissioner Sarfaraz Ahmed said since Warangal was included in many development projects like AMRUT, HRIDAY, SCM and Heritage city, a lot of growth is expected in the coming days. “We are preparing to deal with this by taking help from consultancies which are already experienced with projects useful for us. As part of the same we have conducted this workshop where each company can explain various projects which develop the city,” he said.
