Mercury levels rise in Hyderabad as rains subside
Hyderabad: After several days of overcast skies and relatively subdued temperatures, Hyderabad on Wednesday witnessed a continued rise in temperature and a drop in humidity.
The maximum temperature on Wednesday rose to 32.7ºC from Tuesday’s 31.4ºC, while the minimum temperature went up to 23.4ºC from 22.0ºC. The relative humidity fell by three per cent on July 20 to 60 per cent from the 63 per cent recorded on July 19.
In the next two days, the weather in Hyderabad is expected to be cloudy and likely to see light rains in some parts of the city. The surface winds are likely to be Westerlies with wind speeds around 8-12 kmph. The maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to be around 33 ºC and 23 ºC respectively. The relative humidity can also be expected to be around 82 per cent with a rainfall of 0.2 mm in Hyderabad and the neighbourhood areas. On Wednesday, the highest minimum temperature was recorded in Khammam at 26.2 ºC, followed by Badrachalam at 26 ºC and Hanamkonda at 25.0ºC. The highest relative humidity was recorded at 91 per cent at Bhadrachalam, followed by 90 per cent in Ramagundam.
Hanamkonda and Mahabubnagar recorded 87 per cent relative humidity. Hyderabad recorded the minimum temperature at 23.4 ºC with 0.2 mm rain and 82 per cent relative humidity at 8.30 pm on July 20.
During the last 24 hours in the state, up to 1 cm, which is light rainfall, was recorded in a few places. More than 2 cm to 6 cm of moderate rainfall has been recorded in isolated places.
