No-confidence motion was case of 'majority versus morality': TDP chief
New Delhi: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu on Saturday said that the no-confidence motion in the Lok Sabha was a case of "majority versus morality".
"After 15 years, no-confidence motion was moved by the Opposition parties. We knew they have majority; the motion was majority versus morality," he said at a press conference in New Delhi:
Following the victory of the Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led NDA government trust vote on Friday, Chandrababu Naidu had said the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) betrayed the state of Andhra Pradesh, yet again.

Chandrababu Naidu also took objections to Prime Minister Narendra Modi's statement in parliament on Friday that the TDP fell into the trap laid by its Opposition party, YSR Congress party.
Addressing the media in the national capital on Saturday, the TDP chief said such statements were not expected from a person sitting on a post such as that of the Prime Minister.
"He said you are falling in the trap of YSRCP. I told him as far as I am doing right things, nothing can happen to me and my party. I also asked him how can he compare me with tainted people... YSRCP's leader is going to court every week," Chandrababu Naidu said.
The Andhra Pradesh chief minister said he is one of the senior politicians in the country and it was unfair to compare him with "tainted" people. Naidu said the Prime Minister told him that the Telangana Chief Minister, K Chandrasekhara Rao, is matured and he (Naidu) is unmatured. "I said the PM is not supposed to use such language," he said.
He justified the no-confidence motion moved by TDP against the Modi-government. Chandrababu Naidu said both PM Modi and his predecessor, Dr Manmohan Singh, had promised to do justice to the State as well as its people and it was not delivered yet.
"You have to keep up the promises you had made. PM said it is because of the 14th Finance Commission that he's unable to extend support to the State. What are those constraints?" he asked.
Chandrababu Naidu said the member of the Finance Commission, Govind Rao, had said that nowhere in the report it is said that special category status cannot be extended to a State. "PM was misleading the House," Naidu alleged.
He said neither Prime Minister Narendra Modi nor Home Minister Rajnath Singh took an initiative to sort out the problems of Andhra Pradesh with Telangana. "You humiliate us. This is not a correct approach," he said.
