Hyderabad: An MBA aspirant committed suicide early on Friday morning in Gandhinagar over a minor dispute with her mother.
According to Sub-Inspector of Gandhinagar police station V. Ramesh, G. Shalini, 20, recently graduated and was planning to pursue MBA. “On Thursday night Shalini and her mother Durga had an argument over doing domestic chores. Her mother scolded her that she was not helping with household work. Shalini's father stepped in and ended the argument between the two but Shalini did not like being scolded,” said the official. Shalini stayed with her parents in Bansilalpet, Gandhinagar.
The officials added that on Friday morning when Shalini's mother, who works at Gandhi Hospital, went for work, she hanged herself with a chunni at her residence in Bansilalpet at about 9 am.
Officials further said that Shalini was alone at her home as her father was also out for work. A case has been registered at the Gandhinagar police station under Section 174 of CrPC.
