Don't rely on Telangana government, start-ups told
Hyderabad: TS Innovation Cell’s chief innovation officer Phanindra Sama said entrepreneurs should take the initiative to enhance the start-up eco-system instead of depending on the government or the T-Hub,
He was replying to an engineering student who pointed to the lack of mentorship and access to ecosystem in tier-2 and tier-3 colleges, during the fifth edition of Nasscom Product Conclave on Friday.
Responding to him, Mr Sama said, “T-hub will not be able to support 10,000 entrepreneurs that Telangana state wants to create. All of us have to participate.” He said the innovation cell would be meeting the TS Council for Higher Education on Saturday on setting up entrepreneurship cells in colleges. Applications for the mentor programme where start-ups will have informal association government officers will commence next week.
Start-ups can work with commissioners and higher officials and get mentorship. For this, a innovation fund of Rs 10 crore is being created.
