Tamil Nadu: DGP hosts motivation session for officers
Chennai: “It was quite an enriching experience, besides being very relaxing amid all the usual stress and drain of energies. We did not realise time passing”, said a senior officer after participating in an hour-long motivational talk by noted public speaker Suki Sivam at the state police headquarters here on Thursday.
Sivam's talk will mark the re-launch of the monthly motivational programmes that were in vogue till sometime ago for the police officers at the headquarters across the Marina. DGP T. K. Rajendran inaugurated the session in the evening, which turned out to be a highly enriching experience for the large gathering of officers of all ranks.
“This monthly programmes for motivating our officers were regular during the time of DGP Ramanujam but for some reason, the practice was discontinued. During the recent get-together for retired officers, some of my colleagues here expressed the desire we must resume the motivational talk sessions and I decided it was time we did it. I am sure it will help the force", said Rajendran.
The participants at Sivam's session backed the DGP's confidence that the initiative would be ‘a tonic for the mind and stress-buster’. “Sivam spoke well and even though we already knew most of what he said, it still felt great to be there as our batteries, of both body and mind, got energised", said another senior officer.
