Nearly 2,000 state government employees seek transfers between Telangana and AP
Hyderabad: Nearly 2,000 State government employees have applied for transfers between Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. The governments of TS and AP have agreed to undertake mutual transfers soon.
Employees’ associations in both states have been demanding mutual transfers for the past three years, ever since the bifurcation of the state in 2014. About 176 employees have sought to be able to be with their spouses, and 347 have sought mutual transfers. 1,432 employees have sought to be transferred on personal grounds, in order for them to be able to work for the state of their choice.
The highest number of transfer applications have come from the police department, with 1,120 cops seeking to be transferred, 100 of whom have sought transfer on spousal grounds. 530 applications have come from the school education department, 30 of which are on spousal grounds.
Sixty transfer applications have been received from the collegiate education department, 46 from the technical education department, 40 from the irrigation department, 30 from the Intermediate Education Department, 22 from the rural water supply department, and 19 from the panchayat raj department.
