Hyderabad: Air Force personnel celebrate International Yoga Day

Secunderabad: Recognizing the immense power and importance of Yoga to reinvigorate immunity and fitness, the 9th International Yoga Day was celebrated at Air Force Academy (AFA) Dundigal, College of Air Warfare (CAW) Secunderabad, Air Force Station (AFS) Hakimpet and Air Force Station Begumpet on 21 June 2023 with the theme “Har Ghar Aangan Yoga” (HGAY), which means Yoga in the courtyard of every house. The Yoga was conducted by adhering to the Common Yoga Protocols promulgated by the Ministry of Ayush, Government of India.

More than 1375 (500 from AFA, 100 from CAW, 500 from AFS Hakimpet, 275 from AFS Begumpet) Indian Air Force personnel and their families enthusiastically participated in the “International Day of Yoga” to mark the event as a day to rejuvenate their physical and mental prowess. Air Marshal B Chandra Sekhar, Commandant, AFA, Air Vice Marshal Manish Khanna, Commandant, CAW, Group Captain Jaswant Patel, AFS Hakimpet and Group Captain Manish Kumar, Station Commander, AFS Begumpet along with other senior functionaries joined the session. The event covered basic ‘Kriyas’, followed by some ‘Asanas’, ‘Pranayama’ and culminated with ‘Sankalpa’ & prayer.
