Karvy BPO staff seek salary dues
Vijayawada: The employees of a call centre run by Karvy BPO at Guntu-palli in Krishna district, staged a protest demanding payment of their three-month salary arrears.
According to the protesting employees, the management of Karvy has not been paying their salaries regularly and have not updated them about their Provident Fund and ESI contribution.
They demanded that the government intervene in the matter and take action to release the salaries due to them.
Hyderabad-based Karvy Group had launched its BPO in Krishna district to tap the Central government’s push for taking BPO jobs to smaller cities.
Hundreds of youth were employed in the Guntupalli BPO, which handled the Andhra Pradesh government’s 1100 call centre on government schemes from 2017.
The Hyderabad-based financial service company has also been accused of cheating high-networth investors by recommending them to lend money to financially- not-so-strong builders in Karnataka.
