Hyderabad LRS applicants made to wait for digital documents

Some LRS applicants who are approaching gram panchayats for building permissions are being told to bring signed layout plans to get approval.

Hyderabad: Applicants, who received Layout Regularisation Scheme proceedings from the Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority last week are being made to wait for digitally signed maps of their plots. Planning officers working in a few zones were transferred a few days ago and the new officers are yet to get digital signature approvals for their new postings. Hence digital plans are not being handed over to applicants, sources said.

The urban body took the decision to give all approvals and plans in digital format to ensure transparency and speedy disposal of applications. Applicants meet the LRS norms are given clearance following which they have to pay money to get a copy of the proceedings and then the digital map.

Some LRS applicants who are approaching gram panchayats for building permissions are being told to bring signed layout plans to get approval. Only proceedings are not sufficient, they are being told.
