Vijayawada: A couple, who got married recently opposing their parents, approached the police in Machilipatnam seeking security stating that there was threat to their life from the girl’s parents. The parents of the girl, Kakani Manogna, a native of Penuganchiprolu, reportedly attacked the relatives of Bandi Nagendra Suri Babu, belonging to Sivapuram, at the SP office.
Suri Babu and Manogna had been in a relationship for the last two years. On May 17, they got married secretly without the consent of their parents at Saibaba temple in Tadepalli. The couple told the police that their parents knew of their relationship a year ago but had not agreed to get them married.
According to reports, Suri Babu studied in MIC Engineering College and is working in Bengaluru. Manogna is pursuing engineering in the same college. She is a second year student. They met the SC, ST Cell DSP Raja Rao and asked for the security.
