PSLV-C46 countdown to begin today

Sources in Isro said that the 25 hour-long countdown for the mission was likely to commence from 4.30 am on Tuesday.

Nellore: Isro’s Mission Readiness Review Committee and the Launch Authorisation Board are meeting on Tuesday at the Satish Dhawan Space Centre to take a decision on the launch of PSLV-C46/RISAT-2B Mission tentatively at 5.30 am on May 22, subject to weather conditions, from the Satish Dhawan Space Centre, Shar, Sriharikota.

Meetings were in progress in the Space Port. Sources in Isro said that the 25 hour-long countdown for the mission was likely to commence from 4.30 am on Tuesday.

PSLV will launch the RISAT-2B, a radar imaging earth observation satellite, from the first launch pad at Shar.

The scientists of the Space Agency have successfully carried out rehearsals for the launch on Sunday.

PSLV in its 48th mission will carry the 615-kg RISAT-2B into an orbit of 555 km at an inclination of 37 degrees. This will be the 72nd launch vehicle mission from Shar and 36th launch from the First Launch Pad.

In addition to this, it is the 14th flight of PSLV in core-alone configuration.
