Dilshuknagar twin bomb blast case: Suspect Abdul Wahid Siddibapa deported
Hyderabad: Indian Mujahideen terror suspect Abdul Wahid Siddibapa, whose name figured in the 2013 Dilshuknagar twin bomb blast case, was deported from Dubai and arrested by India’s National Investigation Agency at New Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport on Friday.
NIA and TS counter intelligence sleuths will grill Siddibapa, a native of Bhatkal in Karnataka, over alleged terror funding.
“We are verifying his links to the Hyderabad blasts. We suspect he had financed the terror module from the United Arab Emirates,” an official said.
On February 21, 2013, two bomb blasts hit Dilsukhnagar killing 18 people and injuring over 131 others.
Sleuths are also investigating Siddibapa’s alleged links to the twin blasts at Gokul Chat and Lumbini Park on August 25, 2007. In the supplementary chargesheet in the Dilshuknagar case, the NIA revealed a conversation from December 2012 between Siddibapa and five other accused including Yasin Bhatkal
“An amount of Rs 50,000 was sent from U.A.E by Siddibapa to Yasin Bhatkal. But the sum was not withdrawn in India by the intended receivers due to lack of identity documents. The receivers tried to extract the money from different outlets in three states but were unsuccessful. They then tried to take the money back in the UAE but failed as they had used the identity of another person,” an official said.
The NIA claims the amount was resent to the intended receivers in smaller amounts.
