GHMC starts removing betting and gambling ads and hoardings
HYDERABAD: In a move aimed at putting an end to cricket betting rackets, despite many of them getting busted almost on a daily basis, the government is set to bring in stricter and highly punishable rules, to curb betting and gambling.
The state government has banned betting and gambling apps and has prohibited advertisements bearing such content. GHMC’s directorate of enforcement, vigilance and disaster management (EV&DM), is removing hoardings, betting and gambling advertisements that dot the city.
Its director, N. Prakash Reddy, said “We are removing such hoardings whenever they are brought to our notice. People can lodge complaints on our official Twitter handle or call our control room to get such prohibited content removed.”
