Hyderabad: In a major shock to the Congress, three party MLAs have reportedly decided to join the TRS — Mr Gandra Venkata Ramana Reddy (Bhupalpally), Podem Veeraiah (Bhadrachalam) and Mr T. Jayaprakash Reddy alias Jagga Reddy (Sangareddy).
Sources said they would be joining the TRS on May 24.
Congress Legislature Party leader Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka denied that the MLAs were not defecting. Close aides of Mr Jayaprakash Reddy claimed he was not switching sides but TRS leaders were trying to get them to jump ship.
Asked about the speculation, Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee president N. Uttam Kumar Reddy told this newspaper that he had spoken to all three MLAs and they had denied that they were joining the TRS. He hoped that the Congress MLAs would not leave the party.
