Telugu Desam MP C M Ramesh’s nephew ends life

An official at Yashoda Hospital said that Dharma Ram had sustained severe injuries to the brain and suffered several fractures.

Hyderabad: Dharma Ram, a 17-year-old Intermediate first year student and nephew of TD MP C.M. Ramesh, ended his life reportedly after he failed in the exam. He is the seventh student to have ended his life after the results were declared on Thursday.

According to sources, he was a bright student.

Dharma Ram was a student of Narayana College in Ameerpet. Police said he took his life after learning that he had not cleared the mathematics exam. He had gone into depression after checking his exam result, Banjara Hills inspector Kalinga Rao said.

“He had left a message for his father and his sister and jumped to death from the terrace of Vasavi Bhuvana in Sri Nagar Colony,” he said.

Dharma Ram’s sister who was in the fifth floor had heard a loud sound and on looking out found her brother lying on the floor in a pool of blood.

She rushed him to the Yashoda Hospital.

An official at Yashoda Hospital said that Dharma Ram had sustained severe injuries to the brain and suffered several fractures including of the rib cage.

“We tried to resuscitate him but the injuries were very severe and he succumbed.”

Banjara Hills police registered a case under Section 174 CrPC and further investigation is underway.

On Friday, three Intermediate students committed suicide after their exam results were declared on Thursday, taking the total to five in two days.

The incidents were reported at Nizamabad, Warangal and Hyderabad districts. Another student attempted to take her life and is in a critical condition.
