Hyderabad: Plaint against vet clinic for dog’s death

According to her, she had taken her dog Shiny to the clinic, where her pet was administered three injections on Thursday.

Hyderabad: A woman has filed a complaint against a city-based dog clinic with the Telangana State Veterinary Council for issuing misleading advertisements which claimed that veterinary doctors would be available at the clinic round the clock.

Contrary to the claims made in the advertisement, the complainant, Ms Gowri Vandana, said that Dr Dog 24x7 clinic at Jubilee Hills could not provide emergency care for her pet which resulted in the death of her canine.

According to her, she had taken her dog Shiny to the clinic, where her pet was administered three injections on Thursday.

When the dog developed complications and cried all night, Ms Vandana contacted the clinic for an emergency consultation. But she was told to consult the clinic the next day at 9 am.

“By 8.45 am next day, I was at the clinic but the paramedical staff could not provide any supportive treatment. The doctor came in at 9.30 am, but my dog died in the clinic at 9.20 am, Ms Vandana said.

She further asked, “If the clinic cannot provided round the clock services, she asked why did they advertise that the doctors would be available 24x7?”

Ms Vandana has also demanded that the Government Veterinary Hospital must provide emergency care for animals.

Dr Dog clinic was not available for comment despite several attempts made by this newspaper.
