The CBI alleged that Rs 305 crore foreign investment has been illegally approved to INX Media in 2007.

Chennai: The Madras high court has permitted Mohanan Rajesh, one of the directors of Advantage Strategic Consulting Private Limited to go abroad subject to certain conditions.

Mohanan Rajesh has been barred from leaving India, in view of a lookout notice issued by the CBI in connection with INX Media case in which Karti Chidambaram, son of former Union finance minister P. Chidambaram, is also a suspect. The CBI alleged that Rs 305 crore foreign investment has been illegally approved to INX Media in 2007, at the instance of Karti Chidambaram when his father was the Union finance minister.

Mohanan Rajesh filed the present petition in the Madras high court seeking permission to go to Singapore from April 23 to 27 for business purpose.

Allowing the petition, the First Bench comprising Chief Justice Indira Banerjee and Justice Abdul Quddhose said before venturing out to Singapore between April 23 and 27, Rajesh should submit the details relating to his entire trip plan to CBI in advance with address of stay and places planned to visit. He has to give an undertaking to appear before the CBI immediately after his return and on dates that might be fixed by the CBI, the bench added.
