Hyderabad: NITHM students continue protests

The students have also raised concerns regarding security that was never addressed by the director.

Hyderabad: The students of National Institute of Tourism and Hospitality Management (NITHM) campus in Gachibowli continue their hunger strike that began on Wednesday. The demand that the director Chinnam Reddy be sacked has been raised repeatedly and a letter was sent to the CM K. Chandrasekhar Rao, as well.

The demand to sack the director has been raised as students stated that he has been changing the exam timetable at his will, causing great stress for the students. The students have also raised concerns regarding security that was never addressed by the director.

Another student who spoke to the tourism MD, Mr Manohar, said, “I feel so saddened that we live under such a government. Everything is being run by money. If we don’t get what we ask for, we want our TC and our money. It has all become a political game.”

Authorities have asked students to give them some time until an official inquiry can be launched.
