Private colleges of Telangana get assurance on inspection

A four-member ministers' panel, would be asked to work out modalities for inspections.

Hyderabad: The Telangana government apparently indicated to private college managements on Wednesday that it would withdraw the vigilance inspections that had been announced earlier.

This assurance led the private colleges’ JAC to change its mind and co-operate with the government in hosting various entrance exams lined over the next few days. Insiders say that a four-member ministers’ panel comprising education minister Kadiyam Srihari and three other ministers, K.T. Rama Rao, Etala Rajender and T. Harish Rao, would be asked to work out the modalities for inspections.

An official announcement to call off the strike will be made either on Thursday or Friday. Interestingly, the college managements changed their minds in less than 24 hours as the government also released '3,000 crore fee reimbursement dues.
