KT Rama Rao warns illegal water line owners
Hyderabad: No applications for building permission will be approved without the provision of rain water harvesting pits within structural plans.
Also those tampering and using illegal water connections will have one chance to regularise it and if they don’t comply, legal action will be initiated, said Minister for Municipal Administration and Urban Development Mr. K. T Rama Rao on Wednesday.
The Minister reviewed the 100-day action plans with GHMC, city water board and Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authorities. He has also instructed waterboard officials to draw water from the two sources —Krishna and Godavari — judiciously.
“Those having legal connection or tampering the HMWSSB water lines will be given a chance to regulate the connection, if don’t comply, legal action will be initiated,” the minister said.
GHMC officials have been instructed to identify and repair all water stagnating points in the city prior to the monsoons, so that roads don’t get damaged. And all services rendered by HMDA (building , Layout permission) should be done through online to avoid corruption. About other municipalities the minister told officials to speed up the process of installing LED lights.
