Hyderabad: Two girls suffocate to death in car
Rajahmundry: Two girls suffocated to death after they got stuck in a car for nearly six hours in Bhimavaram on Tuesday. However, their elder sister survived.
Bhimavaram One Town SI, K. Sudhakar Reddy, said the girls were daughters of Galla Nageswara Rao, an autorickshaw driver. The three girls were identified as Durga Sai Sri, 9, Eeswari, 6 and Lakshmi Durga, 4.
On Tuesday the girls went to a school, returned in the afternoon and had lunch. As their mother was taking lunch, they went out to play. They entered a car parked near their house and got stuck in it.
Three doors of the car got locked but one door was open. Though one of the doors remained unlocked, the sisters were unable to open the it. After lunch, their the mother came out and found them missing at around 3 pm.
Relatives started searching for the girls. Meanwhile, a woman named Anasuya devbeloped a doubt that the girls might have got trapped in the car. Her son had brought the car belonging to his friend and had parked it in front of their house.
At about 9.30 pm, she arrived and found the three girls unconscious in the back seat. However, by then both Eeswari and Lakshmi Durga had breathed died. Durga Sai Sri gained consciousness but was unable to speak.
She was rushed to hospital. for medical treatment and her condition is stable. Based on a complaint from the girls’ father police booked a case of suspicious death.
Helmetless man attacks traffic cop
The Langar Houz police arrested a 24-year-old man who allegedly had an argument and scuffled with a traffic SI. Police said the Tolichowki traffic police were checking vehicles at Rethibowli in the morning.
“They stopped a biker as he was not wearing a helmet. When the police asked him for documents, he picked up an argument with them. Traffic SI T. Madhu asked him for his DL and documents. The man threatened the SI and it led to a scuffle,” police said.
Based on a complaint filed by the SI, police arrested the man. The man gave his name as Koushik from Chikkadapally. Later, TRS leaders from Langar Houz visited the police station and demanded his release.
Tech student commits suicide
A BTech student committed suicide in his hostel room at Keesara on Wednesday. The student, Dinesh Reddy, 19, hailing from Adilabad, did not leave any suicide note.
Dinesh, a first year student at the Holy Mary Engineering College, han-ged himself from the ceiling. Police has not yet confirmed the reason for his suicide. The body was taken for autopsy. “We are checking his call details,” said inspector P. Guruva Reddy.
