Hyderabad: The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) has not been attending to 60 per cent of grievances registered onli-ne. Every day, the civic body has been receiving about 100 grievances thro-ugh social media platforms and dealing with a mere 20.

Officials claimed that lower rung staff fearing that the grievances had been tagged to higher officials and political bosses was clearing them with immediate effect.

A Senior GHMC official said that the corporation had been resolving social media grievances with immediate effect since the residents had even been tagging the delay to GHMC commissioner and current TRS working president K. Taraka Rama Rao.

He said that even though the grievances closed on time, residents had been reopening them continuously. However, officials said that social media platforms had been keeping officials on their toes.
