Vijayawada: Priority to CM's convoy irks MLA, protest staged
Vijayawada: Gouthu Samsundar Shivaji, former minister and TD MLA from Palasa, staged a protest on the road, for being stopped by the CM's convoy. He was stopped at the Undavalli Karakatta entrance when he was on his way to the Assembly on Monday. Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu received information of his protest which lasted for 2 hours.
Mr Shivaji had started from Vijayawada to attend the Budget session at the Assembly and the CM’s convoy was returning from Vijayawada. Around 9:15 am, Mr Shivaji’s car and the CM’s convoy arrived at the Karakatta entrance. Mr Shivaji’s car was stopped by traffic SI Bala Krishna to let the CM’s convoy pass by.
Mr Bala Krishna stated that he would not permit Mr Shivaji’s car to enter before the CM’s convoy, which prompted Mr Shivaji to stage a protest on the road. He said that the attitude of Inspector and other officers towards MLAs was disgusting. Speaking to media, Mr Shivaji said the condition of leaders elected by people was pathetic. The issue was subdued by the intervention of Intelligence Chief Mr A.B. Venkateswara Rao.
