Police ask to be kept informed about viral videos

Tumakuru: A youth who recorded his anger against the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) and the National Register of Citizens (NRC) and allegedly abused prime minister Narendra Modi and the RSS in a video, has been arrested by the police in Tumakuru.

The youth was identified as Amjad Khan, son of a fruit vendor in Tiptur. The video clip of the youth abusing Modi went viral on Thursday In the one-minute video, Amjad Khan asks, “What do you think of Muslims? We are tolerant and have the courage to take on Hindus if confronted.”

Khan warns against using the media or the police to curb Muslims.

Amjad Khan is a resident of Gandhi Nagar here. A court remanded him to judicial custody on Friday. Meanwhile, police have appealed to the public not to spread hate messages on social media and to bring such messages to the notice of the police for maintenance of peace and tranquility in society.
