Hyderabad: Hyderabad resident K. Govardhan Reddy, 50, was shot dead by an unidentified man while he was at work at a department store in Pensacola city of the US state of Florida, on Wednesday. According to reports, the masked attacker shot Govardhan Reddy at about 8.30 am local time, killing him on the spot.
A native of Yadadri district, Govardhan Reddy’s family stays in Uppal. He was supposed to return to India for good in April. He is survived by his wife Shobha Rani and daughters Shreya and Tulasi. He used to work as a counter manager at the store. The reason for the attack is under investigation, local police said. Govardhan Reddy’s body was lodged in a local hospital mortuary.
Speaking to this newspaper, Govardhan Reddy’s relative Madhu Sudhan Reddy said he was shot while he was inside the departmental store on duty. The shooter fled the scene and is absconding. His family was informed by relatives living in Florida. The family has no idea on when the body will be sent home.
Govardhan reddy was a native of Raheemkhanpet, Atmakur mandal of Yadadri district. He moved to the US seven years ago....
