He added that the authorities were rather aiding them in fabricating records.

Hyderabad: The Hyderabad High Court on Tuesday directed the District Collector of Mancherial to look into allegations of illegal encroachments on vast extents of government land in the district as well as allegations of officials colluding with the encroachers.

A division Bench comprising Acting Chief Justice Ramesh Ranganathan and Justice K. Vijaya Lakshmi dealt with a PIL filed by Induri Ram Mohan Rao, a resident of Gollapally village, challenging the authorities’ action of not taking any steps to protect lands.

Mr Rao alleged that several influential people had encroached upon government lands and then pledged those lands to avail of loans from the Telangana Grameena Bank and the Adilabad District Cooperative Central Bank. He added that the authorities were rather aiding them in fabricating records.
