Telugu states fail weavers: Pawan Kalyan

GUNTUR: Jana Sena chief Pawan Kalyan found fault with Andhra Pradesh and Telangana governments for failing to implement the promises to the weavers during the elections.

He said lack of commitment is the reason for the words not becoming actions. Describing weaving as an art, he asserted that art should get its due remuneration. Pawan Kalyan participated in Cheneta Satyagraham (weavers’ protest) at Mangalagiri.

The protest was taken up by various organisations across the state demanding the implementation of promises given by the state government. As many as 75 leaders from different weaver organisations sat on one-day fast seeking political representation for weaving community and remunerative prices for their products. Pawan Kalyan handed over lemon juice to the fasting leaders to withdraw their fast.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr Pawan took pot shots on MP Nimmala Kishtappa. He said he takes pride in cleaning job as he respect the work. He also cautioned the political leaders in choosing their words and requested them not to disrespect the workers.

Pressing for the corporation to address the problems of weavers Pawan said the government should consider the request of the weavers. He also demanded cash incentives to the weavers as they were living on meagre wages.

He also suggested the weaving community to form a monitoring committee to monitor the implementation of the promises. He also extended his support to the goldsmith community.

Jana Sena to launch website on policies
Jana Sena chief Pawan Kalyan invited suggestions in preparing the party’s manifesto on various issues.He said the Jana Sena would contest the 2019 elections to the extent possible.

A website will be launched on March 14, third anniversary of the party.
Mr Pawan once again found fault with the state and Union governments over the special category status.

He said the Union government has changed its voice on Special category status thrice. Without taking the name of BJP, he said they have promised they would give SCS before elections, changed their voice to special package would be enough and they will give legal status and now again they were saying it is not necessary.
