Warangal hospital angers Union labour minister Bandaru Dattatreya
Warangal: Due to the increased demand for services of the ESI Hospital, the Central government will establish an 100-bedded hospital in place of the one at Labour Colony, said Union labour minister Bandaru Dattatreya.
After going to Medaram and offering his prayers, Mr Dattatreya visited the ESI Hospital here on Saturday and expressed dissatisfaction over the poor maintenance, outdated equipment and dilapidated condition of the building. He said he asked local authorities to send a report and within one month and the new hospital will be sanctioned.
The Central government has decided to extend welfare ESI services to those in the unorganised sector also and that is why the demand for services at the ESI hospital increased.
“In the next two years the government has decided to bring 35 crore workers under the health insurance coverage through Employees State Insurance (ESI),” he said.
The labour minister also announced the setting up of a modern employment exchange in Warangal district under “Pradhana Manthri Kausalya Yojana” through which both job seekers and job givers can be united.
