Tamil Nadu's final supplementary estimates Rs 10,605 crore

TN government had sanctioned Rs 3,039.24 crore to undertake immediate relief and restoration work in the flood affected areas.

Chennai: State finance minister O. Panneerselvam presented final supplementary estimates for 2015- 16 fiscal for Rs 10,605.3 crore.

The state government had sanctioned Rs 3,039.24 crore to undertake immediate relief and restoration work in the flood affected areas during the torrential rains in November-December last. Of the final supplementary estimates, a sum of Rs 8,088.89 crore was in the revenue account and Rs 2,516.41 crore was in the capital and loan accounts.

The finance minister said it was aimed at getting the legislature’s approval for expenditure on ‘New Instrument of Service’ items, which were sanctioned since the presentation of the first estimates in September last.

Besides this, the Assembly on Saturday adopted by voice vote the withdrawal of certain sums from and out of the consolidated fund of the state for a part of the financial year commencing on April 1 this year to the tune of Rs 1,32,094 crore.
