Camford school in Chittoor is proud of its twins
Nellore: In a rare coincidence, a whopping 29 pairs of twins have been studying in Class II to X in the Camford English Medium School at Chittoor.
This amazing coincidence has spurred the school management to celebrate the World Twins Day scheduled for February 22, with more gusto than other schools.
Twins, dressed in their identical best, were the stars of the gathering, the event attracting the attention of denizens of Chittoor.
Teachers said that they had difficulty in identifying who was who, since the students were replicas of each other. School correspondent C.R. Mahesh said that the event is an annual affair, due to the number of twins in the school.
“It was a shock and surprise for me too when we realized a decade ago that there were 16 pairs of twins in our school. We were unable to distinguish between them since the uniform too is identical. Their number increased over the years,” Mr Mahesh said.
He said that they have been organising the function exclusively for twins every year after they spotted the 16 pairs, to give them an opportunity to come wearing their best and participate in the cultural activities on that particular day.
Mr Mahesh said that the school doesn’t give any special concession to attract twins, the number of pairs is purely coincidental. Meanwhile, parents of the twins and teachers took part in the function held on Saturday.
