TN CM to inaugurate KG in govt schools today
Chennai: Chief Minister Edappadi K. Palanisami will inaugurate LKG and UKG sections in government schools on Monday, according to school education minister K.A. Sengottaiyan. After the send-off meet on Sunday for government school students who are travelling to Finland and Sweden, he said, “The classes would function on full swing from coming June onwards.”
Tamil Nadu government has planned to send 100 students from government and government-aided schools on an education tour. “Now we are sending 50 students and the remaining 50 would be sent in coming May,” the minister said.
When asked about the strike call given by JACTO-GEO (Joint Action Council of Teachers Associations and Government Employees Union) from January 22, Sengottaiyan said, “The school education department has requested the teacher associations to cooperate to conduct upcoming public exams.”
The Teachers Recruitment Board will announce exam dates of Teacher Eligibility Test before February 15, he added.
