HMDA identifies 545 illegal constructions
Hyderabad: The Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA) has identified as many as 545 unauthorised structures in Ranga Reddy and Sangareddy and informed both the district authorities and local bodies to take requisite action. Officials claimed that demolition activities would be taken up with the help of the police.
The municipal authority has identified 249 unauthorised constructions in Shankarpally zone, 44 in Shamshabad zone, 92 in Medchal zone and 160 in Ghatkesar zone. Officials claimed that out of 545 structures, 99 complaints were received manually, 81 were received online and the HMDA staff identified the remaining 365.
Officials instructed the concerned district authorities and village revenue officials to demolish illegal structures and the HMDA has promised to do so with the help of the police. They said that the municipal authority will also book criminal cases on the encroachers if they try to prevent the demolition.
To further curb unauthorised constructions and layouts, the metropolitan authority will share the information with all departments like Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board and electricity departments.
