Hyderabad shivers at 12.6ºC, Telangana on alert

The state is currently receiving winds from north-easterly direction which is dry and cold in nature.

Hyderabad: Temperature in Hyderabad was the coolest recorded so far at 12.6°C, three degree below its normal time of the year, while Adilabad district recorded 5°C, and Medak 10°C.

The dip in temperatures is a result of the cold wave condition over Adilabad, Khammam and Karimnagar districts and the warning has been extended up to January 22.

While the city is also likely to witness a further drop in night temperatures. Severe cold wave that prevailed in Adilabad and Medak districts has been attributed to the change in the wind pattern. The state is currently receiving winds from north-easterly direction which is dry and cold in nature. Since the beginning of January, the minimum temperatures were ranging between 14 and 17 degrees Celsius.
