Centre ready to set up SME Park in AP: Kalraj Mishra

Women entrepreneur parks to come up in each constituency.

Visakhapatnam: Union minister for MSMEs Kalraj Mishra said his ministry was ready to set up an SME Park in Andhra Pradesh and add-ed, “If necessary, it can be developed in PPP mode.”

He attended as chief guest at the one-day workshop ‘SHAKTI — Women Entrepreneurs Meet 2017’, and spoke on the occasion.

The women entrepreneurs’ workshop was organised by India SME forum along with State Bank of India and AP Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

“Am very happy to address this forum on this occasion, especially since the theme relates to enabling women in the area of business growth and success. We need to offer, to our women entrepreneurs, substantial knowledge and national best practices in doing business, access to financing, innovation in projects, assessing risks and growth mantras as envisaged in the ‘stand up India’ programme,” he said.

He also spoke on the bottlenecks for setting up small and medium industries and said his government was making all-out efforts to overcome them as it would fulfil the Prime Minister’s dream of ‘Make In India’. He cited examples of Japan and Germa-ny, how they became prosperous by setting up small industries which became mega industries over a period of time.

Women entrepreneurs in large numbers took part in the day-long workshop.

AP industries and AP Invest director CEO Karthikeya Mishra said, the fastest growing industrial hub with a long coast line, Visakhapatnam, is bursting at the seams.

Under the visionary leadership of Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, apart from the clearances of 85 per cent of the projects with 95 per cent accuracy within the stipulated time of 15 days under a single- desk system, AP has gained number one ranking in the Ease of doing Business.

He added that at the same time, the government is coming up with dedicated women entrepreneur parks in each constituency, with a big push for budding entrepreneurs to be a part of the growing economy.

Vizag MP Kambhampati Haribabu said banks are not achieving the desired target for disbursal of loans under different schemes. Also, some women entrepreneurs may not be aware of all the assistance provided by the financial institutions in the form of incentives, loans and schemes without collateral guarantee. “So, awareness is the need of the hour, especially in rural and backward areas apart from urban,” he said.
