Sircilla will be Sirishala': KT Rama Rao
Hyderabad: TRS working president K.T. Rama Rao on Wednesday promised the people of his constituency that he would convert Sircilla into ‘Sirishala’ (a wealth den) because it gave him a political life.
Thousands of party workers and people of the constituency welcomed Mr Rama Rao on his maiden visit after winning in the December 7 elections and after assuming charge as the working president of the TRS.
A huge rally was organised from Tungabhadra bridge to martyrs statue in Sircilla.
In his thanksgiving address to the gathering, Mr Rama Rao said that whatever the election, the people always supported Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao.
He assured that all developmental works which remained incomplete in the constituency would be finished soon. He promised a railway line for Sircilla within three years. Steps were being taken to supply irrigation water to 1 lakh acres.
He said that the state government would support handloom workers and give employment to women in the apparel park which was under construction in Sircilla.
He said that women working in the beedi industry would be given support by providing skill training in the apparel park.
Mr Rama Rao said that after getting tremendous response to the Rythu Bandhu Scheme and the Kaleshwaram lift irrigation project nationwide, party president and Mr Rao had decided to concentrate on national politics and therefore had made him working president.
He said that qualitative change in the country could be possible only with the replication of the welfare schemes launched by Mr Rao in Telangana, across the country.
Later, Mr Rama Rao launched the distribution of Bathukamma saris in his constituency at a programme organised by the Sircilla Rajanna district administration.
