KSRTC to run 550 extra buses to clear Christmas rush

Bengaluru: To clear the Christmas rush on December 25, KSRTC will operate 550 extra buses in addition to the existing schedules on December 21 and 22. Later, special buses will be operated from different places to Bengaluru on December 25.

Special buses will be exclusively operated from Bengaluru Kempegowda Bus Station to Dharmastala, Kukke Subramanya, Shivamogga, Hassan, Mangaluru, Kundapura, Sringeri, Horanadu, Davangere, Hubballi, Dharwad, Belagavi, Vijayapura, Gokarna, Sirsi, Karwar, Raichur, Kalaburagi, Ballari, Koppala, Yadgir, Bidar, Tirupathi and other places.

Special buses from Mysuru Road Bus Station will be exclusively operated towards Mysuru, Hunsur, Periyapatna, Virajpet, Kushalanagar and Madikeri.

All premier special buses will be operated from Shanthinagar to Madurai, Kumbakonam, Trichy, Chennai, Coimbatore, Tirupathi, Vijayawada, Hyderabad and other places in Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. Special buses from Sri Basaveshwara Bus Station, Vijayanagara, Jayanagar 4th Block, Jalahalli Cross, Navarang (Rajajinagar), Malleswaram 18th Cross, Banashankari, Jeevan Bimanagar, ITI Gate, Ganganagar, Kengeri Satellite Town to Shivamogga, Davanagere, Tirupathi, Mangaluru, Kundapura, Sringeri, Horanadu, Kukke Subramanya, Dharmastala and other places based on the traffic potential. Travellers can book computerised reservation tickets in advance for the special buses.

Advance reservation of tickets for the special and scheduled buses of KSRTC can be booked through 707 counters in Karnataka and other states. A discount of 5% on the fare will be extended if four or more passengers book tickets in a single ticket and a discount of 10% is offered on the return journey ticket if onward and downward journey tickets are booked simultaneously.

Advance reservation tickets for KSRTC can be booked through the booking counters set up in important cities of neighbouring states, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Kerala, Puduchery, Maharashtra and Goa.

Also, special buses will be operated from all taluk/district bus stands in the jurisdiction of KSRTC based on traffic needs.
