Kozhikode: It is carnival time for city schools heralding the New Year. A few, including Springwood School and Bhavans Vidya Mandir, had already hosted their carnivals in their lush lawns dotted with stalls put up by students, parents, teachers and others.
On Thursday, Little Discoveries Preschool is holding the grandparent’s day with a circus carnival featuring games, prizes, music, food and more, to highlight values, motivation and inspiration that children draw from them.
The school authorities said that as the grandparents play a critical role in a child’s life, leaving a lasting impression on them, they thought of honouring them.
They expect a variety of food stalls featuring ice-creams and pastries to attract visitors. Special cultural programmes by the tots are other major highlights of the day.
