Apollo hospital fined Rs 2 lakh

The GHMC would conduct a special drive and penalise those who lett water on to the roads and dirty the place.

Hyderabad: The GHMC on Wednesday imposed a fine of Rs 2 lakh on Apollo Hospital in Jubilee Hills for letting out residual water on the road and causing severe damage to the bitumen.

GHMC commissioner M. Dana Kishore made surprise inspections in the city and instructed zonal commissioners to impose fines all residential and commercial properties for letting water out on the roads and creating unhygenic conditions like open dumping of garbage.

Mr Kishore also instructed Khairatabad zonal commissioner Musharraf Ali Faruqui to seize Vekanteshwara Tiffin Centre opposite the hospital for discharging water and making the area unhygienic.

Following Mr Kishore’s instructions, Mr Faruqui penalised two residential properties for letting water on to the roads, eight push cart vendors for dumping of garbage and two commercial establishments for maintaining unhygienic conditions.

Mr Faruqui said low-lying areas near Filmnagar Cultural Centre and Lotus Pond in Jubilee Hills were the worst affected.
