GHMC plans to scrutinise BRS applications manually

A corporation official said that they would only make a list of rejected applications.

Hyderabad: After sitting on them for three years, the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation has decided to scrutinise applications under the Building Regularisation Scheme (BRS). Authorities said the field staff would only validate the documents and check whether or not they were in compliance with the civic body’s norms.

A corporation official said that they would only make a list of rejected applications. They will wait for the satellite images to be given by the National Remote Sensing Agency and upload them to the servers of the Centre for Good Governance, which has been giving back-end support to the corporation. The High Court has directed the GHMC to scrutinise 1.21 lakh BRS applications. Sources said the court had directed the GHMC not to regularise the unauthorised constructions.
