Sabarimala row: CPM decides to go to People's court
Thiruvananthapuram: Anticipating Sangh Parivar's propaganda on the Sabarimala issue, the CPM state secretariat on Friday decided to interact with directly from people belonging to all sections of society to explain party's stand.
The details of the party programmes to counter the Sangh Parivar propaganda were finalised at the state secretariat meeting here. The district level rallies of LDF will be held in remaining 13 districts.
CPM has decided to approach each family across the state between November 3 and 4, meet individuals and family members to explain the party's stand on the Sabarimala issue. The party will complete extended family meetings by November.
As part of the campaign, padyatras led by party leaders will be organized in140 Assembly segments next month. Kodiyeri said the temple entry proclamation was one of the biggest achievements of renaissance movement in the state. Renaissance get-together will be held in all villages. These will be attended by cultural leaders, library activists and important personalities of the area and members of mass organisations.
When asked whether the government would go for a review petition, the CPM state secretary said; “It is not relevant at this stage. Many review petitions are before the SC. Naturally these will be examined by the apex court. There will be opportunity for government and devaswom board to present their views before the apex court. At the moment a smokescreen is being created in the name of review petition to incite believers,” he said.
