Minister has no knowledge of Lingayat religion,says Jayamrutunjya Swamiji

Bidar: Jayamrutunjya Swamiji of Kudalangama Peetha expressed his unhappiness over the statement of Mr Shivakumar on the Lingayat religion issue. “It is obvious from the statement that Mr Shivakumar has no knowledge about the Lingayat religion issue. He has made the comment to appease somebody who was on the dais at the Gadag function. It shows how desperate he has become,” he added.

The Swamiji was speaking to the media at Basavakalyana town near here on Friday. He took a dig at Mr Shivakumar alleging that "some people who are against former CM Siddaramaiah have raked up this issue to influence the coming by-elections. Their intention is to harm the reputation of Mr Siddaramaiah. Contrary to the belief that the Congress failed to get a majority in the previous Assembly election due to the recommendation made by the Siddaramaiah government, the Congress has fared better in the North Karnataka region due to this step. It's in the Vokkaliga belt that the Congress failed to do better,” he added.
