Hyderabad: Commuters face overflowing' woe
Hyderabad: Sewerage at several points at the Botanical Garden road, Kondapur, is overflowing for the past two days leading to inconvenience to commuters and residents.
Residents who are primarily techies allege that it is taking more than 15 minutes to cross a few metres of Sri Ram Nagar Market on the same road. Thousands of commuters residing in the area are affected by sewage water. A boundary using sticks has been created, to indicate the sewerage overflow at Chirec Public School.
The sewerage from Sri Ram Nagar B&C block is flowing along the road.
A techie, Mr B. Phanieshwar, said, “It is a prime road, connecting various areas and thousands of commuters use it every day. At least the sewerage flow should be stopped. There are schools in the vicinity and spilling of water will cause health issues.”
Another commuter Mr Balaji Senege said, “It is a kind of unique drainage fountain at Kondapur.”
However, a GHMC official said that the airtech machine would arrive on Saturday following which the sewerage overflow would be arrested.
Meanwhile, lack of basic infrastructure is haunting the area, because of which several techies have time and again raised concerns on twitter as well as requesting civic authorities to look into the issue as living standards were deteriorating.
