Hyderabad: Following the report ‘Tension in Old City over insensitive remarks’ in these columns on October 18, members of Anjuman-e-Alavi clarifed that the man identified as Syed Abbas Ali Rizvi was wrongly mentioned as belonging to the Shia Akbhari community.
“The person has been shown in a bad light and it is causing enmity between two communities. He is not a member of the Akbhari group. The community has evidence to prove that the said person does not belong to Shia Imamia Ithna Ashari Akhbari community,” Mr Mir Hyder Ali Jaffery, president of the Anjuman-e-Alavi-Akbhari community, told this newspaper.
