They are scheduled to be welcomed to the site by chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan for performing ‘yagna’ for the ceremonial installation of the statue of the eighth century revered philosopher and proponent of Advait Vedanta philosophy, officials said here on Tuesday.

Traditional Shaiva dancers drawn from across the country are scheduled to give performances on the occasion.

“Shivoham” dance will be presented by the performers to the tune of Shlokas composed by Adi Shankaracharya on the occasion.

Mr Chouhan held a high level official meeting here late on Monday to review the preparations for the unveiling of the statue.

The chief minister is also scheduled to lay the foundation for the Advait Lok or corridor on the occasion.

Various religious festivals are scheduled to be held on the occasion.

Two books authored by Acharya Shankar will be released on the occasion.

The unveiling of the statue was scheduled to be held on September 18.

But, it was deferred to September 21 due to heavy rains that lashed the region.

Various pujas and rituals are being performed at the site for the last three days leading to the occasion.
