India looks up to youth for bringing about change: Gangwar at ViT Festival

He happened to read a news report about not even one Indian university figuring in the top 200 universities of the world: Gangwar.

Chennai: India was looking up to the youth to bring about a change in the country and also to lead the nation in the right direction, Mr. Santosh Kumar Gangwar, Union minister of state for labour and employment, said on Thursday.

Inaugurating the sixth annual technical festival — Techno VIT' 19 — organised by VIT Chennai, the minister said the youth of today were very well informed and aware of the problems and challenges in the country.

Mr Gangwar said he happened to read a news report about not even one Indian university figuring in the top 200 universities of the world. He said that under Dr G.Viswanathan, founder and chancellor of VIT, Indian universities may soon find a place in the top 200 universities.

In his presidential address, Dr. G.Viswanathan, founder and chancellor of VIT, said that it was very important for students to take up higher studies and research work. Mr. G.V.Selvam, vice president, VIT, said that technoVIT'19 was the culmination of hard work of over four months by students and faculty, resulting in 240 events.
