Thiruvananthapuram: Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan will return from the US on September 24.
This was disclosed by industries minister E P Jayarajan at the Cabinet briefing here on Wednesday. The chief minister, accompanied by his wife Kamala, had left for the US on September 2 for treatment at the Mayo Clinic for an undisclosed disease.
Sources said the chief minister whose treatment got over on Wednesday, would be attending a couple of receptions organised by the NRKs in the US. He will address a meeting of NRKs in New York which has been organised by FOKANA, press club and several other Malayali organisations.
The chief minister would also address the diaspora on the need for assistance for rebuilding Kerala. The chief minister is expected to preside over Cabinet meeting here on September 27.
Earlier the Chief Minister had planned to go to the US on August 19. But he had to postpone the visit because of floods that wreaked havoc in the state.
